Yes. PT Mulia Coconut Charcoal Indonesia is an Indonesian-registered manufacturer. It is registered under NIB 0220001330412 and NPWP 97.328.977.3-164.000 — both numbers are verifiable in the government OSS and tax portals. The factory is at Kawasan Industri Candi, Jl. Gatot Subroto Blk. 3B No.18, Ngaliyan, Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia, running 4 lines at 350 tonnes per month. We press what we sell; we do not resell another factory's output under our name.

Quality grades compared
All three grades are 100% natural coconut shell charcoal — no chemicals, no fillers — produced under ISO 9001:2015 and classified for sea transport as IMDG UN 1361. The grades are separated by one thing a buyer can measure — ash content — and by how hard the material was screened to reach it. The numeric specifications below are factory targets; a per-batch certificate of analysis (COA) ships with every order.

Ash content by grade
Ash content is the percentage of mineral residue left after the briquette has fully combusted, measured by mass. It is the single most visible quality marker to your end customer: lower ash means less white debris in the bowl, fewer interruptions to scrape and re-seat coals, and a cleaner-looking session. Our grades run from 2.5-2.8% on Premium down to 1.6-2.0% on Platinum. Below roughly 2%, the difference is obvious to an experienced lounge operator — which is why Platinum commands a premium shelf price.
Why the grades differ
Higher grades are screened harder — three to five screening passes instead of one. That removes more fines and loses more raw material, and returns a cleaner briquette. The difference between grades is a yield difference, not a different raw material. Every grade is pressed from the same coconut shell, carbonized mostly at our own plant and supplemented from vetted suppliers. Read how we select and carbonize that shell on the raw-materials page.

What the specifications mean
Impact on the smoking experience
Specifications are not abstract. Lower ash content keeps the bowl clean and the airflow open, so the session draws the same on the last 20 minutes as the first. A longer burn time — 2+ hours on Premium, up to 2.5+ hours on Platinum — means fewer coal changes per session and less interruption for the customer. A stable peak temperature near 680 °C delivers consistent heat to the tobacco without scorching it, and because the briquette is pure carbonized coconut shell with no accelerant, it adds no chemical taste or smell — the flavor your customer pays for is the tobacco, not the coal.
Impact on your business
Consistency is what protects your margin. A coal that burns the same in every box means fewer customer complaints, fewer returns, and a reputation your lounge or retail brand can charge for. Low ash and long burn let you position a premium SKU above the commodity wood-charcoal shelf. Will container two match container one?
The honest answer is that batch variance exists in this material and any supplier who says otherwise is selling you something. What we do about it is a system rather than a promise: every container is tested by an accredited independent laboratory, a certificate of analysis reports the measured values for your batch, batch samples are retained, and you can nominate your own surveyor.

High-volume venues go through coals fast, so the figures to compare are landed cost per kilogram and the grade's ash and burn time. Every cube size and the flats are available, in inner plastic or a printed inner box inside the master carton. Test a free sample in your own bowls before the first container.

Retail sells on the box and the brand on it. Any size and shape ships in printed inner boxes (250 g / 500 g / 1 kg / 2 kg / 3 kg / 5 kg), and OEM / white-label puts your brand on the box, not ours.

The minimum order is 18 tons (one 20ft container) — we load full containers only, but you can mix shapes and grades inside one. Production lead time is about 21 days for a 20ft container and 21–25 days for a 40ft; a first order under a new brand adds 7–10 days. Goods load FOB Semarang, Indonesia.

What this product is not
Four things buyers regularly arrive looking for that this catalogue does not cover.
- Not BBQ or grill charcoal
- BBQ lump and briquettes are made for open-flame cooking and run hotter, dirtier and shorter. Shisha coals are pressed for a long, low, neutral burn under a bowl. The two are not interchangeable.
- Not activated carbon
- Activated carbon is steam- or chemically-activated charcoal used for filtration and adsorption, sold by surface area. It is a different product with a different HS code and is not burned.
- Not quick-light or instant-light
- Quick-light coals carry a chemical accelerant that ignites from a lighter. Ours carry none, which is why they need a burner and why they taste neutral. A peer-reviewed study measured roughly twice the mean carbon monoxide from quick-light versus natural charcoal.
- "Coconut husk charcoal" is the same product
- Buyers use "husk" and "shell" interchangeably in enquiries. Everything here is pressed from the hard inner shell, which is the material that gives the low ash and neutral taste; the fibrous outer husk is not used.
