The inner box is the retail and branding unit of the shisha charcoal packaging system: the box the end customer picks up. It presents the product and carries the brand and retail markings, while the inner plastic inside it is the moisture barrier.
Quick answer
What is a coconut charcoal inner box?
An inner box is the printed retail box that holds plastic-sealed coconut shisha charcoal and carries your brand to the end customer. It presents the product; the moisture barrier is the inner plastic inside it. It carries your buyer-supplied barcode/EAN, country of origin and a lot code, and packs into the corrugated master box for freight, neutral or branded.

1. Definition & purpose
The charcoal inside is always sealed in inner plastic first, so the moisture and dust barrier is the plastic, not the box; the inner box exists to present, protect in handling, and carry the brand and retail markings.
That division of labor matters when you spec an order: spend on the inner box for shelf appeal, and rely on the inner plastic for protection.
How the inner plastic protects the charcoal
- Charcoal briquettes
- Inner plastic (barrier)
- Inner box (retail)
- Master box (shipping)
Each layer nests inside the next: charcoal → inner plastic → inner box → master box.

2. Box styles, construction & finishes
Inner boxes are produced in tuck-end, two-piece tray-and-lid and sleeve styles. The board (250, 310 or 350 gsm) takes full-color CMYK print directly under a matte or gloss coating, unlike the brown-kraft master box.

Finish ladder
A finish ladder is the order in which packaging finishes stack: a base coating (matte or gloss aqueous varnish) comes standard, and upgrade finishes are layered on top of it: lamination, emboss, spot UV and foil (hot stamping). Each step is priced separately, so a quote never double-counts a coating as an upgrade.

3. Sizes, weights & packing into the master box
Net charcoal per inner box: 250 g / 500 g / 1 kg / 2 kg / 3 kg / 5 kg. Net weight counts the charcoal; gross weight (charcoal plus box) is confirmed per size with the quote.
As a reference, a 1 kg inner box holds one 1 kg sealed pack of charcoal. Piece counts vary by briquette size and shape, and are confirmed per size with your quote.

Packed into the master box
Inner boxes pack into the corrugated master carton for freight. How many fit per master box follows the inner-box size and the briquette, and is confirmed with your quote.

4. Printing & branding
The inner box is your primary branding surface — full-color print across every face, plus the finish ladder above. Custom printing has a per-design minimum and adds to the production lead time; both are confirmed on inquiry.
We match Pantone/spot colors for brand-color accuracy across reorders. Your files and printing plates stay on record for repeat orders.

5. Retail & consumer markings
The retail inner box carries your barcode/EAN — buyer-supplied, factory-printed — alongside country of origin and a batch/lot code. Net weight is printed on request. Shelf-ready formats: availability confirmed on inquiry.
Anti-counterfeit stickers apply to the retail box too: QR stickers, hologram stickers and 3D domed stickers are available. UN 1361 dangerous-goods markings live on the master box, not the retail inner box.

7. A View from the Other Side: Is a Printed Inner Box Worth Paying For?
Note
The strongest opposing view is that for many container buyers the printed inner box is a cost they should skip. The argument: the inner plastic is the actual moisture and dust barrier, and the master carton is what survives the voyage — so a printed retail box adds per-design tooling cost, an order minimum, and extra production lead time without protecting a single piece of charcoal. Importers who repack, rebrand at destination, or sell through channels that don't need shelf-ready retail units get no protection return on that spend.
When it genuinely holds: this is correct whenever the box never reaches a retail shelf in your packaging. If you brand at destination, sell in bulk, or are still testing a market, the printed inner box buys you nothing the plastic and master box don't already provide — and we say so directly: the moisture and dust barrier is the plastic, not the box.
The rebuttal, on our own terms: the page never claims the inner box protects the charcoal — it explicitly assigns protection to the inner plastic and freight survival to the corrugated master box. The inner box is scoped to one job: presentation and the retail markings the shelf legally and commercially needs — your barcode/EAN, country of origin and lot code. If your charcoal goes to a shelf in your brand, those markings have to live somewhere, and the retail box is where buyers expect them. And the spend is opt-in, not forced: neutral inner boxes are available with no brand printing, custom-print carries a per-design minimum (not a per-container one), and you can request a physical sample box plus a digital proof before committing a cent to tooling. So the real decision isn't "printed box vs. no protection" — it's "do these units hit a retail shelf in my brand?" If yes, the inner box is the cheapest place to carry the brand and the mandatory markings; if no, ship neutral. The page already routes both answers.
